The Princeton, Indiana community is mourning the passing of Jordan Alexander Wampler, a 28-year-old resident remembered for his love of family, the outdoors, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. Jordan passed away on November 3, 2025, at Northwest Healthcare in Amarillo, Texas, leaving behind family members, friends, and loved ones who are honoring his memory and celebrating the impact he had on those around him

Born on December 20, 1996, in Evansville, Indiana, Jordan was the son of Scott and Amanda (Roberts) Wampler. From an early age, he developed a strong connection to his family and the community around him. Those who knew him described him as someone who valued relationships, enjoyed spending time with others, and brought energy and personality into the lives of the people around him.

Jordan was known by some of his childhood friends as “Gordon,” a nickname that reflected the close bonds he formed during his younger years. He grew up enjoying outdoor activities and had a passion for hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. Whether sharing stories with friends around a bonfire, listening to music, or enjoying quiet moments outdoors, Jordan found happiness in simple experiences and time spent with people he cared about.

Professionally, Jordan worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 181 District 2 Operators Union and Local 178 in Amarillo, Texas. His work reflected his hardworking nature and his ability to take on demanding responsibilities. Before moving into his position in Amarillo, he worked with Roberts Boring Company, where he gained experience and built a reputation as a dedicated worker.

Beyond his career, Jordan’s greatest joy came from being a father. He cherished the time he spent with his children, Paisleigh and Paxstyn Wampler, and those closest to him remember the love and devotion he showed toward them. He also enjoyed caring for his goats Donnie, Bandit, and Bella which became another reflection of his affection for animals and the outdoors.

Jordan’s passing was deeply felt by his family, especially as he was already preceded in death by his brothers, Zane and Colton Wampler, along with other relatives. His surviving family includes his children, his longtime partner and the mother of his children, Destiney Nottingham, his parents, siblings, grandparents, extended family members, nieces, nephews, and many friends who will continue to carry his memory forward.

Funeral services honoring Jordan’s life were held on November 12, 2025, at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, Indiana, with burial following at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Family and friends gathered to share memories, offer support, and pay tribute to a life that touched many people.

As the Princeton community remembers Jordan Wampler, many are reflecting on the moments they shared with him and the legacy he leaves behind. His love for his children, dedication to his work, loyalty to friends, and appreciation for the outdoors remain important parts of the story of his life.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Jordan’s memory will continue through the people who loved him, the stories they share, and the lasting impression he made on his family and community.
