The Princeton community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Zane Cole Wampler, an 18-year-old local teenager whose life was tragically cut short following an ATV accident on March 16, 2020. Zane’s sudden passing has left family members, friends, and neighbors mourning the loss of a young man remembered for his kindness, adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Born on March 4, 2002, in Princeton, Indiana, Zane was the beloved son of Scott Wampler and Amanda Roberts. From an early age, he developed a reputation as someone who loved the outdoors, enjoyed spending time with friends, and embraced life with enthusiasm. His family and those who knew him described him as a young man with a passion for adventure and a deep appreciation for the people around him.

Zane had many interests that reflected his energetic personality. He enjoyed fishing, riding four-wheelers, dirt bikes, side-by-sides, and playing football. These hobbies were more than activities for him—they were opportunities to create memories with friends and family. Whether he was exploring the outdoors, working on a project, or simply spending time with people he cared about, Zane was known for his genuine smile and outgoing nature.

At the time of his passing, Zane was working with his uncle at Roberts Boring, where he was building experience and contributing his skills. Those close to him remembered him as someone who was hardworking, dependable, and willing to help others. He was preceded in death by family members, including his brother Colton Wampler, his paternal grandmother Debbie “Meemaw” Dill, and great-grandparents Alfred and Gladys Roberts. His family has continued to remember the impact Zane had during his 18 years of life and the memories that will remain forever.

Friends and loved ones have gathered in remembrance, sharing stories of Zane’s personality, his love for adventure, and the happiness he brought into their lives.
